Kennametal
Kennametal’s ProBore roof bits feature a new twisted-body design specifically engineered for improved operation. “Unlike traditional straight-body designs where dust and other materials clog or otherwise slow down equipment, the new ProBore twisted-body design acts like a flute on a twist drill, efficiently channeling dust away, simultaneously reducing clogging and lowering cutting forces, making drilling more efficient,” the company says.
The ProPoint high-efficiency tip features a new thinner cross-section that reduces respirable dust and lowers power consumption while increasing material size. Kennemetal says: “A proprietary body profile with a narrow bottom tip reduces breakage and extends service life, meaning more rock cutting with significantly fewer motor trips for continuous mining machines.”
Konecranes
Konecranes will demonstrate its RailQ Runway Survey technology at Minexpo. It says the RailQ Runway Survey, designed for overhead lifting equipment runways, combines laser survey techniques with Konecranes-specific software to accurately measure straightness, elevation, rail-to-rail elevation and rail span.
“Konecranes engineers will be on hand to demonstrate how the RailQ system uses visualization technology and a remote controlled robot trolley which runs along the rail to collect data via Bluetooth technology,” the company says.
La Marche
La Marche says its A75MD charger includes many of the latest features sought after by many of today’s mine operators to help enhance some of the overall processes used in mine operations.
The A75MD furnishes a charge curve tailored to quickly and properly recharge a battery in a manner to maximize overall battery life. Data logging is available as an option. “Please stop by; we look forward to demonstrating a few of the charger’s features and answering your questions,” the company says.
Longwall Associates
Longwall Associates will display a completely customized line pan as part of a full OEM panline supplied by Longwall Associates to a customer in West Virginia. The company says the line pan’s unique design and use of proprietary materials ensures it will easily handle well over 50 million tons of coal in its lifetime.
During Minexpo Longwall Associates sister company C & A Cutter Head will display a shearer cutting drum for a customer in West Virginia that it says incorporates the latest innovations and features found on their OEM line of equipment. “The lifecycle of this particular shearer cutting drum is anticipated to be over 20 million tons of coal,” the company says.
Longwall Services
Longwall Services is an American company specializing in products for the coal and glass industries. It says its new Gator Bretby features an interlocking patented design allowing use in either side or twin pull configurations.
LSI also produces the ProRad shuttle car anchor, which protects shuttle car cables from premature wear and breakage.
LSI is also US distributor for ATB Morley motors, providing customer service and a large stock of replacement parts.
Magnetek
Magnetek will exhibit its line of M-FORCE AC drives as well as wireless remote controls for mining applications.
M-FORCE drives control induction AC motors for high efficiency at a wide range of motor speeds in traction applications or at a fixed speed for hydraulic pumps and fans.
The M-FORCE SD500 severe duty AC traction drive is designed with a flat plate heat sink as standard. Magnetek also provides custom engineered systems that include liquid and various air cooled options. The company also offers an SD500 combo drive system that combines two variable frequency drives in a common enclosure for combined traction and hydraulic applications.
The M-FORCE drive system offers optional equipment such as the display, intuitive graphics and external buttons for diagnostics and control in an MSHA-approved housing and Magnetek’s proven CAN-BUS radio frequency hardware technology. The M-FORCE system offers stand-alone controllers and radio receiver controllers capable of direct machine control of motors and hydraulics in addition to other CAN-BUS compatible devices.
