Under the agreement signed yesterday, CalAmp will provide a more rugged version of its Vanguard mobile wireless router, as well as a satellite communication version of the system, to allow communication with Caterpillar equipment in remote locations.

CalAmp said the technology would connect fixed and mobile equipment on CDMA and GSM networks around the world, while providing valuable equipment performance data.
