The company did not release financial terms for the deal but did say ACS’ 40 employees in Windber, Pennsylvania had joined the Esco Engineered Services Group.

Esco called the takeover a strategic purchase to increase its product line for underground mining.

“As a key drum manufacturer in North America, ACS will help Esco integrate its underground mining products and services into the US market and better serve our customers in this very important region,” senior vice president and engineered products president Jon Owens said.

As it will continue doing business as Esco Windber, the Pennsylvania ACS site will continue to manufacture products under the Esco brand and serve as a North American supply and service location.

Esco operates in 22 countries on six continents and has a large network of 30 manufacturing facilities and 40 sales and distribution offices.

ACS drums are designed for all models and brands of continuous miners and longwall shearers, as well as road milling machines.
