The permit has been issued for a 1,242ha area which enables the development of the port, haul road and the initial development of the mine site, once the conditions of the permit are met.
Cokal has also advanced the pegging of the Borrow and Use forest area with most of the 1,600 pegs having been installed. Approval on the pegging is expected to come from the Forestry Department in early November.
Cokal will submit the documents to the national Forestry Department in November 2014 and expects the issue of the full permit in the fourth quarter.
Detailed landowner and land use mapping is now substantially complete for the Purnama Port and the haul road corridor. Mapping of the first development areas within the mine area is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter.
