Coal 2017 to feature geotech workshop

The Coal Operators' Conference has been held at the University of Wollongong since 1998 and in 2017 the conference will address issues related to various aspects of modern coal mining operations, both surface and underground.

“With over 40 papers accepted, the conference offers the perfect opportunity for industry experts to share their latest research, advice and insights,” Aziz said.

In addition, the conference workshop on Falls, Bursts and Heave-Prediction of Failure at the Excavation Boundary using the TIB Failure Criterion, Dr Ross Seedsman of Seedsman Geotechnics will deliver to geotechnical engineers an insight into the criterion and its applications.

The conference dinner and trade exhibition will give attendees a chance to network with some of the industry’s best minds, Aziz said.

 

 The Coal Operators Conference will be held from 8-10 February 8-10, 2017.
