Up to 700 delegates from across the country are expected to attend the four-day conference at the Gold Coast from August 19-22, themed "Recognising Opportunities Together", conference co-chairman Russell Albury said.

"We have lined up a compelling panel of keynote presenters who are leaders in the health and safety industry to share their expertise with delegates," Albury said.

"Our aim is to facilitate a forum that inspires a positive change and improves health and safety management in the Queensland mining industry.

"The only way our industry is going to evolve is if we get together to tackle the hard issues faced by the industry head on."

There will also be more than 40 individual industry presentations, a safety training workshop, trade displays, eight exhibitor presentations, and the announcement of the industry's Innovation and Health Program Awards at the conference dinner.

Keynote speakers include Queensland Commissioner for Mine Safety and Health Kate du Preez and MATES in Mining CEO Andrew McMahon.
