The haul truck entered a dump and was in position to start tipping off.

The dozer operator called the truck and instructed it to reposition.

The truck driver called up stating where he was going to dump.

No response was given.

As the truck was reversing, the position 6 [right rear] tyre hit the ripper box of the dozer.

The NSW Resources Regulator said there were no injuries or damage.

"To achieve positive communication, a clear direct message must be given," it said.

"Additionally, the person receiving the message must actively reply with a clear understanding of the message.

"Supervisors should be continually monitoring pos coms compliance during every radio call on their shift."
