Qld opens up more Bowen Basin land for coal exploration

MORE land in Queensland’s Bowen Basin is being made available for exploration with tenders opened for five areas with high potential for metallurgical coal and thermal coal.

Mines minister Dr Anthony Lynham said the blocks also had access to the Bowen Basin's existing rail and port infrastructure at Hay Point and Gladstone to get the coal from pit to port cheaper and faster....
