An out-growth of this program has been the development of computer software programs that transform research results into practical tools that provide engineering solutions to complex ground control problems.
The workshop is being held March 2-3 at the Adams Mark Hotel, Grand Junction, Colorado.
“The purpose of this free workshop is to provide hands-on training for understanding and using these software programs,” NIOSH said.
Workshop attendees will receive the latest versions of the software packages, learn how to solve practical ground control problems, and get hands-on computer training from NIOSH experts.
The workshop will include the following programs:
STOP – Support Technology Optimization Program
ALPS – Analysis of Longwall Pillar Stability
AHSEM – Analysis of Horizontal Stress in Mining
SHIELD – Shield Hydraulics Inspection and Evaluation of Leg Data
CMRR – Coal Mine Roof Rating
TGRSS – Trouble-Shooting Guide for Roof Support Systems
ARBS – Analysis of Roof Bolt Systems
ARMPS – Analysis of Retreat Mining Pillar Stability
NIOSH said for professional engineers, a certificate indicating professional development hours will be offered.
