New members include former executive vice president and interim chief operating officer of Massey Energy Company Stanley Suboleski, former director of regulatory affairs for the Pennsylvania Coal Association Michael Young and former chairman Mary Jordan.

Along with Commissioner Robert Beatty Jr, the four newly sworn-in commissioners bring the FMSHRC to fully staffed status for the first time since August 2000.

The Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission is an independent adjudicative agency that provides administrative trial and appellate review of legal disputes arising under the Federal Mine Safety and Health Amendments Act of 1977 (Mine Act).
