Having previously focused on people living interstate in Australia and in New Zealand, WA premier Mark McGowan is overseas heading the $195 million Reconnect WA mission, to recruit workers and find markets for WA's strong economy and alleviate skills shortages.
McGowan said with WA's economy the strongest in the country and one of the strongest in the world, it was a great time to be a Western Australian and the campaign would help to sell that lifestyle to European markets.
"Our world-leading management of COVID-19, robust economy and relaxed way of life positions us strongly as a place for people living overseas to move to and call home," he said.
"What makes WA so attractive compared to other states is that we have the highest annual salary and the lowest average mortgage - so if you want to earn a good wage while paying less on your home then you should look at WA."
McGowan said WA had a significant program of major infrastructure projects that continued to contribute to quality job and business opportunities.
"I look forward to welcoming more UK and Irish nationals and families to our great state," he said.
The Build a Life in WA campaign is targeting skilled workers in Ireland and the UK to primarily fill jobs in the construction and manufacturing industries, which are under pressure after strong growth in recent times and a long-term pipeline of work.
There were 142 occupations added to WA's skilled migration occupation list to accommodate current and future workforce needs, with 194 occupations also added to the graduate occupation list to attract more international students to study in WA.
Through the skilled migration pathway international students graduating in WA have the option to apply for permanent residency.
State development, jobs and trade minister Roger Cook said as the state continued to thrive, the campaign will help raise awareness among key international markets that a wonderful opportunity was on offer in WA.
"I highly encourage anyone wanting a sea change to make the move to WA and help to contribute to the future of our state," Cook said.
