Located near Jincheng City in Shanxi province, some 360 miles south-west of Beijing, the Daning longwall mine is targeting annual production of 4 million tones when production begins later this year.
SAADEC (56%-owned by Asian American Coal) is the first foreign company to receive a license to mine coal in China.
DBT America will supply a 1800mm slope belt system with two 1600kW Fluid Coupling Drives, a 1600mm belt system for the Main West heading with two 400kW TPKL fill-controlled turbocoupling drives, and a 1400mm panel belt system with three 400kW TPKL drives. The order also includes remote discharges, take-ups, and a hydraulic winch storage unit.
Conveyor components ordered from DBT China comprise a 903m CEMA E floor-mounted structure for the slope, a 487m CEMA E roof-hung structure for the Main West heading, and a 2752m CEMA D catenary structure for the panel.
The equipment is destined for the new Daning longwall mine to be operated by the joint venture company SAADEC. The company has a license from the Chinese government to develop and operate a mine at Daning with reserves of 170Mt.
"We are pleased that the SAADEC joint venture has reached agreement to source these belt systems from DBT, as it is one of the final steps in our drive toward full production later this summer," AACI chief executive officer Gary F Ladd said.
