The company, part of the Orica Group, says the resin capsules are primarily used as an anchoring medium for rock bolts and long tendon anchors to provide roof and rib support, and will largely be used in the Indian coal mining industry.
“Minova Minetek is the only resin capsule manufacturer in India to make resin capsules using international-standard machinery,” the company said.
“This ensures the high performance and consistent quality demanded by high-production mining methods, especially the continuous miners which are starting to make an impact in Indian coal mines.”
Minova says the decision to commission a second machine and production line comes on the back of rapidly expanding demand for the resin capsules.
The first production line has been operating since 2003.
The second capsule machine is part of a wider plant upgrade, which includes the installation of mechanised blending equipment and an increase in safety and environmental standards to the global levels of Orica Group.
Minova says it is also planning further expansions at Minova Minetek, including building on the sales of injection resins for strata consolidation and water and gas sealing.
