The annual event is set for October 5-7 at the Sheraton Birmingham in Alabama, and will spotlight methane gas recovery and use presentations from government and industry experts, showcase the newest technology, look at legal and financial issues and case studies, and provide networking opportunities for guests.
While organizers said that the technical itinerary was still being prepared, CMOP has put out a call for presentations and is soliciting abstracts from across the industry.
Those documents, along with any links and appropriate background information, are due by May 31.
One schedule highlight that has been confirmed is an offsite tour of nearby Jim Walter Resources on the final day of the conference.
JWR management will present an operations overview and guests will tour the coal seam well site, a gob well site and the company’s methane processing facility.
The JWR will wrap with a visit to the ventilation air methane/Biothermica unit at the operator’s No. 4 mine. CMOP officials noted that reservations for the limited spots will be required.
The conference’s popular exhibit hall will also return in 2010
