Designed to increase uptime and decrease costs, the newly launched program involves an onsite review of the entire conveyor system that focuses on key issues such as spillage, carryback, and mistracking.
An examination for damaged components and safety issues is also completed in the comprehensive review.
Upon completion, the operation will receive a complete report that highlights immediate areas of concern as well as issues where Flexco recommends future fixes.
“Owners and operators that are around the conveyors every day may not notice the slight changes in the system, while a fresh set of eyes can,” global service program manager Rich Gilman said.
“Instead of waiting for something to go wrong, they can address the issues proactively, saving time and money in unscheduled downtime.”
The company recommends all operations inspect and perform maintenance on all components of the conveyor regularly as part of an overall maintenance plan.
However, Gilman said an audit – which should be done at least once annually – ensures the infrastructure is running at its peak.
“We’ve had people come back after an audit to tell us that simply reducing the amount of time spent cleaning up carryback materials is a cost savings in itself,” hesaid, noting that Flexco’s service is free of charge to the operation and can be easily scheduled.
Additional separate services by Flexco specialists include cleaner audits, lagging audits and roller audits.
In May, the company announced it had simplified the installation and maintenance of its Service Advantage Cartridge for the Mineline MHS secondary cleaner and put the feature on the P-Type secondary cleaner and the R-Type reversing secondary cleaner, which will aid in increasing uptime and allowing easier maintenance, servicing and inspection.
