A graduate of the US Air Force Academy and an Oxford University Rhodes scholar, Wilson had a 10-year tenure in Congress including serving as a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and chair of the House intelligence subcommittee on technical and tactical intelligence.
She previously served as staff director of defense policy and arms control for the National Security Council and founded Keystone International.
“Dr Wilson is an exceptional leader with a broad perspective on energy, mining and global affairs who leads an institution that is bringing forth the next generation of mining talent,” Peabody chairman and chief executive officer Gregory Boyce said.
“Her extensive expertise in global intelligence, energy and strategy will be of great value to Peabody's platform.”
Missouri-based but internationally focused Peabody has 28 surface and underground mining operations across the US and Australia.
