The manufacturer has more than a century of experience in designing vehicles for the harsh climates and extreme road surfaces of Australia.

IVECO produces a range of light, medium and heavy-duty trucks and buses for off-road operations.

Its latest series of 8x8 heavy-duty Astra trucks arrives in Australia next week, with Action Mining Services one of the first companies to order this product.

IVECO marketing coordinator James Grehan said his company had sold a number of IVECO service and support vehicles to BHP Billiton, including the ACCO truck series.

"The trucks are compact and functional, yet still comfortable and do the job at the same time,” Grehan said.

“The advantage that we hear from a lot of customers and dealers is that they're versatile and can work with a number of different applications, they're even used by emergency services companies.

"We have a total transport solution for the mining sector, from the 4x4 to our new 8x8 Astra, we also offer buses, so it's not just utility and support."

Australian-designed and built, the ACCO range is produced at IVECO's manufacturing facility in Dandenong, Victoria.

Designed for tough environments, IVECO's vehicles can operate on muddy tracks, rough ground and steep slopes.

IVECO has sold a range of buses to Western Australia mining operations in the Pilbara.

Its off-road vehicle range is manufactured in Europe and shipped to Australia.
