The HCC quality is excellent, exhibiting low-ash, low-volatile matter and low sulphur, the company said in a presentation.
“PCI quality is also very good, exhibiting high calorific value, low-volatile matter and low sulphur,” it said.
“Overall washed total yield is in the range of 73% to 83% for two high value metallurgical coal products (62% HCC, 38% PCI).”
Infrastructure is in place for Belview because it is on the existing Blackwater Rail Line to Gladstone Port. It is also surrounded by operating coking coal mines in the Bowen Basin.
The project has an initial 322 million tonne JORC-inferred resource with first coking coal exports planned from Belview in 2018.
