Atom expands

Express will now be rebranded Atom Express, and will have access to over one million products.

Atom’s eight warehouses across Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland will join Express’s four east coast warehouses in New South Wales and Victoria to create a national footprint.

Atom has more than 40 years of experience providing expert knowledge and assistance to the mining, civil, oil and gas, government, electrical, maintenance repair and operations, commercial, construction, agricultural, infrastructure and engineering industries

Atom group general manager Bob Denby said it was an exciting time for the company.

“We look forward to be better able to service our customers on the east coast with our new national presence,” he said.

“Atom is known to do whatever it takes to get what its customers need, when they need it, and to where they need it

“Express’s mission to provide their customers with a quality supply range, value for money and exceptional service already fits with Atom’s core values.”

Atom has previously partnered with APEX Supply Chain Technologies to bring the latest technology in industrial vending solutions to Australia, offering items such as a full range of PPE, lubricants and greases, abrasive discs, welding rods and extensions leads.

The vending machines can reduce typical consumable consumption by 25-30% through controlled access to stock and state of the art reporting.

The Atom group also owns established PNG-focused industrial tools supplier Bishops.

Bishops has an additional seven warehouses across Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
