Works encompassed in the contract, the value of which was not disclosed, will include the duplication of the Bruce Highway between Temples Lane and Farrelly's Road and will complement the upgrades to the nearby intersections which are nearing completion, as well as the widening of the road between Farrelly's Road and Boundary Road.
The project's final stage will also upgrade Connors Road on behalf of the local council, erect traffic lights at the Temples Lane intersection and install a roundabout at the Stockroute Road intersection.
Works on the final stage of the Bruce Highway upgrades in Mackay’s southern suburbs are expected to commence as early as April and the overall project is scheduled for completion for the end of next year.
