The mine in northeast China's Liaoning Province is owned by Fuxin Mining Group, official news agency Xinhua reported yesterday.
Li Jun, vice-secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the Fuxin Mining Group told Xinhua on Friday that the amount of compensation was determined according to the guidelines set out by the State Council and Liaoning provincial government.
He said the compensation includes about $US542 for funeral charges, $5420 for industrial death allowance, $1250 in work safety allowance, $2794 subsistence allowance to the victims' families and a $15,000 donation from the Fuxin Group.
The mining group will also pay a pension every month to the relatives of the dead miners, Xinhua said.
