The acquisition adds to Coffey’s presence in the UK, following its acquisition of Enterplan in March this year. Coffey expects significant growth in the UK construction sector leading up to the London Olympics and the acquisition of EDGE positions Coffey to benefit from that increase in construction activity.
Coffey and EDGE share core expertise in geotechnical engineering and geo-environmental consulting and several of Coffey’s businesses will benefit from close cooperation with EDGE.
“This acquisition enables Coffey to continue to expand its business as specialists and to diversify internationally,” Coffey managing director Roger Olds said.
EDGE expects 2006 revenue of more than £2.4 million.
