WDS wins $50M worth of contracts

The two main contracts are with Santos for the Gladstone LNG project and with Vale at Carborough Downs, both long-standing clients of WDS.

All of the contracted work is set to be delivered this financial year.

At Santos’ GLNG project, WDS will be the principal contractor to carry out field installation of appraisal gathering systems for the connection of CSG wells in GLNG’s Surat Basin gas fields.

The work scope is multi-disciplined and will include civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation aspects of the management and construction of field and trunk pipelines and CSG wellhead connections.

The company also won a surface to in-seam directional and vertical drilling contract with Vale for gas drainage and other services at the Carborough Downs mine in the Bowen Basin.

Work includes drill pad preparation, vertical production wells, surface to in-seam wells and wireline logging over eight months.

WDS managing director Terry Chapman said the two contracts showed strong client relationships across the CSG and coal space.

“In addition, our energy business has received contracts for wellhead lease and gas compression fabrication works for both Arrow Energy and QGC as well as a 12-month extension of the lease to Fluor of our 265-room Fairview construction camp,” he said.

Company shares are creeping up on the back of the news, rising by 1.34% to 75c during morning trade.

Shares yesterday traded at a low of 74c.
