Salmen, 54, replaced Per Nordberg, who resigned from the seat and the company in Stockholm last year.
The new CFO’s past experience includes stints with Stora Financial Services, Handelsbanken Markets and Adcore. He is currently a chief financial officer for Vin & Spirit AB.
Salmen is a masters of business administration graduate from Stockholm University.
Sandvik, based in Sweden, has about 50,000 employees in 130 countries and manufacturers tools and equipment for coal mining and rock excavation, metal cutting and machinery, and also produces special alloys and ceramic resistance materials.
