The company has bagged a number of coal contracts in Central Queensland.
Rio Tinto has awarded a contract for the construction of a coal handling preparation plant and associated coal handling plant at its Clermont project.
Monadelphous will be working on two dragline shutdowns for BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance at the Blackwater coal mine in the Bowen Basin.
The company will also fabricate and construct a radial stacker for BMA’s Peak Downs coal mine.
Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said the contract wins in Central Queensland reinforced the company’s national capacity.
“We are especially pleased to be working for BMA as this is our first dragline maintenance contract outside the Hunter Valley and a major milestone in the achievement of our coal market strategy in the Bowen Basin,” he said.
Additionally, the company was awarded contracts from BHP Billiton Iron Ore for structural and mechanical pre-works at Nelson Point in the Pilbara, and from Rio for the installation of an automated alumina delivery system and associated infrastructure at the Boyne smelter project in Gladstone.
All projects are scheduled for completion in the second half of this year, except for the Boyne smelter project, which will be completed next year.
Shares in Monadelphous were 23c up this morning to $10.73.
