“We are very fortunate to have a person of Don’s calibre join our management team,” said Lane. “He brings more than 30 years of experience in the engineering and management of multiple mine complexes using both surface and underground mining methods.
“He also has extensive experience in the acquisition and development of reserves in the Illinois basin and southern Indiana. We welcome him to James River Coal Company,” he concluded.
Most recently a senior vice president and president of Norwest Corporation, Arrowsmith also brings management experiences from Ziegler Coal, Consolidation Coal and AMAX Coal. Arrowhead holds a bachelor of science in mining engineering from Queens University.
