The company has over 700 conveyor installations and 20 longwall communications and signalling systems, including total mine wide gas monitoring systems. Austdac’s product range also includes cap lamps, self-rescuers, IS Telephones and a range of special IS Power Supplier, some with their own internal battery backup.

The company will be exhibiting at QME on stand number 1111, where they will showcase a range of products, including the new SIL level 3 AS61508 Longwall and Conveyor Systems.

“This is the first system in Australia to be certified to the latest AS61508 Standard and once again allows industry to incorporate the cutting edge technology to ensure higher reliability and productivity without compromising the safety which is still our number one priority,” the company said.

Austdac will also be showing their new IP66 rated pullswitch, which again has been improved to withstand arduous conditions. The company has also developed a new yellow pullwire and composite longwall cable to ensure better visibility and a new right-angled adaptor for the slip ring plug to make it easier to run the cabling along the supports.

The new LCD communication module and Tail End Unit, which is totally backward compatible with existing conveyor and longwall equipment will also be displayed at QME. The system was designed to integrate all the underground communications and ensure total control over the mine communications systems. It has been designed to operate with other manufacturers equipment and interfaces into the existing surface telephone and radio systems.

The development has incorporated keypad conveyor stations which effectively make the individual conveyor extension to your existing PABX systems allowing anyone to ring an extension and talk directly to any conveyor located underground or directly to any person on the surface.

“This unit indicates battery/line voltage, current, monitors speakers and the PSA tone. It has been designed to help reduce down time in fault finding, and yet is simple to operate and maintain,” the company said.

Austdac also has a new LED cap lamp (no maintenance), which is smaller and lighter than existing units on the market with added safety features such as emergency lighting when the head piece is cut.

The unit can be interfaced into a computer software data base which can tell you number of cycles (up to 800 cycles), condition of battery, shift details, and much more. It can be charged using existing cap lamp racks hence reducing the overall up grade costs.

Austdac will be exhibiting the CSE and AFROX self rescuers and the AUSTRAN SYSTEM which is a rapid, user friendly, method of recording the maintenance of self rescuers in accordance to the QLD and NSW code.

“Austdac will continue to serve the mining industry and expand its products base to cater for the needs of the industry and to ensure reliability and simplicity within its product design,” the company said.

“We look forward to meeting you on our stand.”
