Brookville Equipment recently manufactured a 12-ton diesel maintenance vehicle for use in West Virginia. The unit allows for personnel to service and repair other equipment within the mine by utilizing onboard hydraulic and pneumatic power to operate its features.
Its articulated frame allows for increased maneuverability in a constricted environment. Being more than 400 inches in length and having a maximum height of 56in, this vehicle has a rugged 12-ton frame that is able to support its maintenance equipment and large fluid storage tanks.
Five storage tanks, located in the rear of the machine, allow for easy servicing of equipment. A 250-gallon diesel fuel container, with a 25-foot hose reel, enables refueling of diesel-powered machines.
Each of the other four tanks individually stores one of the various types of lubricants needed for mining vehicles. Attached to each tank is a pump and hose reel for immediate distribution. Engine, hydraulic, gear and waste oil containers hold approximately 75-150 gallons each. The unit has a standard 16 gallon replaceable grease barrel with pump, hose reel and nozzle.
Outfitted with a hydraulic crane, the unit has the capacity to lift 3200 pounds. The crane’s boom extends up to 15ft and has a remote control pendant.
The air system consists of a hydraulic-driven air compressor with 60 CFM output; supplying the needed air to operate the air tools and pumps. This unit is equipped with an air hose reel that has a quick disconnect for rapid change out of tools.
A hydraulic welder rated at 225 DC amps is provided for mobile equipment repair up to 50ft away. Receptacles with 110 volt power supply are integrated into the welder.
Additional features include work lights for better visibility, oxygen and acetylene tanks for torch operation, a pipe vise and lockable tool boxes.
