The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy GeoScience Taskforce, Australian Institute of Geoscientists and Geostatistical Society of Australia are behind the one-day workshop.
Presentations describing case studies from surface and underground operations, where new ideas have been made to enhance functionality and performance, are being sought from mining geoscientists.
Potential topics include innovations in data management, analysis and presentation; open pit and underground mapping services; grade control and coal quality management; communicating with other professionals; ‘adding value’ with geology; managing consultants; integrating resource, geotechnical and hydrogeological data; changes in the roles of mine geologists; and the implementation of new technologies.
Submissions for verbal and poster presentations are due July 1, completed papers, extended abstracts for presentations or posters are required by August 31.
