Toe-breaking incident at North Wambo

According to a state government spokeswoman, the accident occurred at about 11.30am.

“He was working on the longwall section of the mine and became trapped between machinery and the conveyor,” the spokeswoman said.

“He was flown to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition and later released. The man suffered two broken toes.”

The man is 30 years old, according to the Newcastle Herald.
