Workplace health and safety is an on-going concern for the coal mining industry.
With ever-changing technology, work practices, health trends and environmental concerns, research and development continues to play an integral role in keeping our workers safe and healthy, according to Coal Services.
Researchers, mine owners and operators, industry workers and suppliers are encouraged to apply, it said.
Priority areas for the Trust are mental health, fatigue, diesel particulates, high pressure oil injection injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, RSI prevention, treatment and management, vibration, dust and noise.
Recently completed projects funded by the Trust include the Mines Rescue, Gas Detection and Emergency Preparedness manual and Data Analysis reporting framework for dust sampling data base.
