Held from October 28 to 31 October in Beijing, the show represented an opportunity for Australian companies to tap into the potential of China’s mining market.
Mackay based Juganaut Industries Pty Ltd went to China to promote their home grown utility loader. With the help of Queensland State Development and Trade Start, Juganaut Industries Pty Ltd set up a stand at the show along with eight other Mackay Companies that attended the Expo.
“For us the trip was a discovery tour to see what the market was, whether it was worth our while and see if we had products and services they need. We saw a tonne of potential there,” said Juganaut Industries director Bevan Garioch.
“There are lots of new mines and every mine has our type of equipment, on average six of our type machines plus attachments are in most of the bigger mines. This presents itself as a market with high potential.”
Garioch said traditionally the mines had bought from the US and England but had just started to buy Australian products.
He said the audience attending the Expo were of a high quality, all decision-makers directly involved with Chinese coal industry.
“I found after speaking to the contacts at the show, they are all keen on modernising and automating. As we have made huge inroads into modernising our machine and they are looking for this type of technology, we have a realistic chance of breaking the market,” Garioch said.
The major challenges facing Juganaut Industries Pty Ltd is the understanding the way business is done in China and overcoming the language barrier.
The name change to Juganaut Industries Pty Ltd from Magnum Industries will become official on December 1.
