The Mustang diesel engine system was designed by PJB and tested in its NATA certified laboratory.
PJB overcame problems associated with limited space around the skid steer engine through the design of a shoehorn. The PJB engineering department built an integrated manifold, adapter pipe and exhaust conditioner/flametrap in one piece which took less room. The manifold, pipe and flame trap is usually built in three pieces.
While PJB manufactures many of the components fitted to the Mustang, Dealquip carries out the assembly at its Newcastle workshop.
The agreement between the two companies was signed in November last year in a bid to offer a higher level of service and support to the New South Wales and Queensland coal fields.
PJB managing director Phil Berriman said so far most sales of the Mustang had been made to contractors.
