The vehicle holds a turbocharged four-cylinder Deutz diesel engine that gives the unit 100hp at 2500rpm, with a top speed of 13 miles per hour. The Rosebud unit utilizes a Clark Hurth model T12000 power shift transmission, which allows for three forward speeds and three reverse speeds.
As per many of Brookville’s diesel vehicles, the rosebud tractor comes equipped with a DST exhaust treatment system that cools the exhaust temperature, allowing a paper filter to be used to collect the diesel exhaust particulate matter. According to Brookville, the system is 96.9% effective.
The 10t haulage tractor is equipped with Dana model 212 steer axles. The unit is four-wheel drive with four-wheel steering capabilities controlled by a joystick from a single operator compartment. This allows the operator to steer the front axle while an on-board computer steers the rear axle.
Brookville said there are three modes of steering – front axle only, crab, and coordinated. Front axle is the traditional style of steering, leaving the rear axle fixed in the straight position. Crab mode allows the rear axle to steer in the same direction as the front axle, allowing the unit to move in a sideways movement. Coordinated mode allows the rear axle to steer in the opposite direction as the front axle, allowing for an extremely tight turning radius.
The braking system consists of a power-assisted brake valve controlling the internal wet disc service/park brakes, which reduce interim as well as long-term maintenance. The tires on this machine are also foam filled.
Another additional feature is a 21gpm Hydraulic PTO option, with quick connect ports on each end of the unit. The frame is made of A36 steel.
The suspension is a trailing arm type suspension that not only allows the axle to travel in a vertical direction, it also allows the axle to pivot about the drive train centerline, effectively keeping the tires in total contact with the ground in all but the most extreme circumstances, Brookville said.
The Rosebud unit has adjustable height suspension. At the lowest suspension setting, and with the operator canopy at the lowest setting, the unit sits 38in high over the canopy with 5.5in ground clearance. The height then over the canopy is 46in with the canopy set at the lowest setting. The canopy can be raised twice from the lowest setting in 4in increments.
