The Louisiana-based tech company said its ToughStation Hazardous Area C1D2 computer offered explosion proof protection services for underground mining environments, where coal dust and other combustible materials were present in an enclosed atmosphere.
The PCs are also built to resist the rugged conditions and shock and vibrations inherent in strip mining, surface mining and open-pit and mountaintop removal operations.
The new model includes a 10.4-inch panel with Intel i3, i5 and i7 core processing technology.
User visibility of the system has been increased by the active matrix TFT flat panel display, which boasts 400 nits of high brightness illumination.
The unit is constructed with a stainless steel front bezel helping to make the IPC resistive to corrosive liquids and materials, and suitable for wash down applications.
The system is operational in a temperature range of -10 degrees C to +60 degrees C (14 degrees F to +140 degrees F).
