The contract is for the upgrade of part of the water network at its Mt Arthur coal mine, part of the decommissioning of the main dam water network.
“SubZero Group has provided mining support services to Mt Arthur Coal for more than 10 years,” SubZero managing director Scott Farrell said in a statement.
“During this period we have delivered a comprehensive range of services to the mining operation and look forward to continuing to work at the mine during this project.”
SubZero began the project on April 10 and said it would supply and install 25km of poly pipe, relocate pumps and pontoons and complete all associated earthworks.
The Hunter Valley mine produces around 20 million tonnes per annum of run of mine coal for local and international customers in the energy sector, with expansion plans underway to increase coal production to 24Mtpa.
