A state Department of Labor spokesperson told local media that the incident occurred Saturday morning at Peabody’s Air Quality Mine No. 1 near Vincennes.

The names of the workers have not been released. Both were reportedly airlifted to a medical facility with non-life threatening injuries.

Neither US Mine Safety and Health Administration nor Peabody Energy officials immediately responded to an ILN request for comment Sunday.
