Peter Binnie has also served as the engineering manager for Vale’s Carborough Downs longwall mine in the state and as project development manager at Xstrata’s Macarthur River zinc-lead-silver mine in the Northern Territory.
Binnie is expected to offer plenty of insights for Bandanna and AMCI’s South Galilee project, which is immediately south of Waratah’s China First project in the Galilee Basin.
“The addition of Peter to our management team will greatly facilitate our transition from explorer to producer through the development of our Dingo West, South Galilee and Golden Triangle projects, all of which are currently in prefeasibility,” Bandanna managing director Dr Ray Shaw said.
Bandanna recently secured an allocation of 4 million tonnes per annum from the proposed Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal which is due to start shipping in early 2014.
The explorer’s project portfolio hosts more than 1.4 billion tonnes of resources with more than 700Mt in the Bowen Basin.
Bandanna shares closed up 2c yesterday afternoon to 98c.
