View, which recently announced it is changing its name to Celsius Coal, holds a 90% interest in two Kyrgyz coal properties and has a right to acquire an 80% interest in Tuyuk-Kargasha as well as three other tenements in the central Asian country.
Exploration at the Uzgen Basin will begin tomorrow to test the company’s exploration target of 500-700 million tonnes of coal for the region.
The drilling will build on 30,000m of cored drillholes completed during the Soviet era and 15,000m of trenching and adits.
Tuyuk-Kargasha covers 800 hectares of the explorer’s property and contains 23 coal seams with individual seams up to 8.7m thick based on historical intersections.
A semi-industrial scale plant left over from the Soviet program is still present onsite.
