Hogg has over 27 years of broad based operational experience in Australia and internationally across a number of industries, including the mining and manufacturing sectors. He also has significant experience in acquisitions and mergers and the associated integration processes.

"Peter's skills, experience and leadership capability will play an invaluable role in VLI's future, helping to ensure the Australian businesses continue to perform and grow ensuring the significant opportunities available to VLI are realised, and building on our existing track record of success," managing director and CEO Chris Freer said.

Hogg's appointment will allow Freer more time to manage and grow Valley Longwall's burgeoning international business opportunities in China, Russia, India, New Zealand and Europe.

Hogg will report directly to Freer.

"I look forward to joining the team at Valley Longwall International and helping to build on what is already an impressive growth story," Hogg said.

"The opportunities available to the company both in Australian and offshore markets provide an exciting future for the business."
