The state government said it would not levy royalties on trial export shipments, would review methods of royalty calculation on coal exports and was currently completing a study into deepening the Bunbury Port, all strong incentives for coal producers Griffin and Wesfarmers to develop a burgeoning export industry.
"It is satisfying that the Gallop Government has recognised the increased market potential for Collie Coal which is a definite reflection of the capability and potential for the local coal industry," Griffin Coal interim chief Tony Lodge said.
