This, according to the Ports Corporation of Queensland (PCQ), is the 10th consecutive year of record export tonnage, and exceeds the previous record by almost 10%.
State transport minister Paul Lucas said the coal ports of Hay Point and Abbot Point were the largest contributors to the total growth, collectively increasing throughput by almost 10% to just short of 100Mt.
Lucas said the bauxite port of Weipa and the sugar ports of Mourilyan and Lucinda also established records.
Hay Point also took the title of Australia and the world's largest bulk coal export port, and PCQ reaffirmed its place as Australia's largest port authority by throughput.
At Hay Point, the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT), leased by Babcock and Brown Infrastructure, exported 50.2mt, representing an over 15% increase on the previous year.
The BMA Coal-owned and -operated Hay Point Services Terminal at the port also set a new record of 35.3Mt, up 3.95% over the previous best in 2003-04.
At Abbot Point, the Newlands-Collinsville-Abbot Point Project (NCA Project) exported a record 12.8Mt of coal, marginally up on the previous record set in 2002-03.
In Weipa, Comalco exported a record 15.5Mt of bauxite, up 13.5% over the previous year's record.
A record total of 715,000t of sugar was exported through Mourilyan, up 4.7% on the previous year, and almost 100,000t of molasses.
At Lucinda, a record 675,000t of sugar was exported, topping a record established in 1997-98.
