The project is one of two major upstream developments surrounding the Arrow LNG project at Gladstone, with the Bowen project involving the staged development of CSG wells in an area in Central Queensland.
The EIS will be available to the public from Monday, with Arrow Energy chief executive Andrew Faulkner talking up the project’s benefits.
“Arrow’s Bowen gas project will have a lifespan of about 40 years, which will help meet the growing demand for cleaner fuels,” he said.
“It will also complement Arrow’s existing Moranbah gas project, a joint venture with AGL, which continues to supply both the Moranbah and Townsville power stations and mineral refining facilities in north Queensland.”
Arrow will hold a series of five community information sessions, with public submissions on the EIS being accepted from Monday until April 23.
“I encourage anyone with an interest in this project to come along to the upcoming community information sessions and be informed and also aware of the opportunities,” Faulkner said.
