The Adriyala project is expected to receive longwall equipment by June and is targeting completion by June 2013, according to the company’s projects update this month.
The longwall mine is expected to hit production capacity of at least 2.81Mtpa.
The company’s Kakatiya longwall project is aiming for 2.747Mtpa and is slated for completion by March 2015.
SSCL is also considering the development of two other longwall projects as coal demand continues to exceed domestic Indian supply.
Bucyrus landed its first-ever Indian longwall contract for the Adriyala project last year.
At the time, the original equipment manufacturer revealed the longwall would have an operating range of 2.8-3.6 metres and target production of 4.5Mtpa.
