Outburst claims 7 Chinese coalminers

About 20 workers were in a shaft when disaster struck around 8.30pm.

A government spokesman allegedly told state-owned news provider Xinhua 13 miners escaped.

All bodies were reportedly identified by 7am yesterday and relevant mine management had been taken into police custody.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
