The precleaner uses less operator time when replacing and removing blades in tough underground mining environments.

Removal of the cartridge blade is made easy, with operation designed to be done by one person. The cartridge is easily pulled straight out, after the removal of just one pin.

The old cartridge can have new blades installed to replace worn blades when time permits. Once replaced, the cartridge is ready for the next blade change.

The precleaner is fitted with segmented SuperShear blades developed to take extreme conditions, while maintaining a constant cleaning force and providing more even wear.

The blades feature specially-designed force distributor vents, which store tension and allow each blade to move independently from one another and maintain blade contact. More conventional cleaner blades tend to wear quickly in the load-carrying centre of the belt, losing cleaning power.

SuperShear blades self-adjust and maintain continuous contact across the entire belt width.

Segmenting the blades means that the user can adjust the number of blades to cover the belt’s material path only.

The precleaner comes with dual compression spring tensioners, for ease of tensioning and checking. The dual spring tensioners are unique in that they can easily be reset with just a few twists of the tension nuts.

The tension spring height is measured to ascertain that the blades are correctly tensioned.

All MHCP HD cartridge precleaners come with mounting bases with pre-assembled tensioners that are ready to install.

Optional mounting bars and steel plates can be used to make installation easier on open belt heads. After installation, all that is required is occasional checks of the blade tension, with simple retensioning – spring tensioners only – between blade replacement maintenance.

The MHCP HD cartridge precleaner is available in a wide range to take belt widths of 600 to 2400 mm. The belt cartridge can be retrofitted to competitor’s poles, saving the need to replace these.
