Life in the fast lane: Bruce Highway gets more

The 1.2km overtaking lane, which cost $5 million, will give 3000 motorists and 800 truck drivers who use the stretch of highway everyday an additional opportunity to pass slower moving vehicles.

All up, 50 overtaking lanes are being built on the Bruce Highway alone, as part of a federal government $2.8 billion investment in the national road network.

The upgrade is being delivered by VEC Civil Engineering.
