Hong Kong- and New York-listed Yanzhou Coal has recorded a year-on-year profit increase of 145% for 2004.

The Chinese producer posted a 2.7 billion yuan profit for the year.

The company produced 39.15 million tons of raw coal in 2004, down 9.5%, attributing the drop to technical upgrades.

The company sold 38Mt of coal in 2004, with plans for to increase exports this year to 59Mt.
