The machine displays features that are new to the industry and leading the world in continuous miner technology, Crinum development maintenance coordinator and project manager Alan Bruce said.
Bruce said during the design phase, the aim was to create a continuous miner that increased the efficiency of development mining by allowing both cutting and bolting to occur simultaneously.
“The design phase of the project took about 12 months, when a number of Crinum employees worked closely with Voest Alpine to make improvements to the initial design, especially from a safety and ergonomic point of view,” Bruce said.
“As well as the safety and ergonomic improvements that set the ABM25s apart from other miners, all the controls on the platform are totally new and leading the world in technology advancement.”
