The tyre shortage has made companies such as Raventech turn to preventative measures to increase the tyre’s life, like its tubeless tyre management system that measures temperature and pressure and sets off a colour code when falling outside acceptable limits.

RUD Chains has released a new tyre protection chain especially for underground operations; it is compact and features low height sidewall sections to improve traction and extend tyre life.

Australian Urethane Systems will display the latest polyurea and polyurethane coatings, including Polyeuro 1050H (a polyurethane copolymer coating system); Eagle shield (a very high wear resistant spray elastomer); and Stainguard (a polyasparatic coating for steel protection).

Bearcat will show off its Arnco liquid polyurethane flatproofing polymer that is pumped into a tyre through the valve system. The company says its product can increase tyre life by two to five times compared to an air-filled tyre.

Burn Brite Lights will be showcasing its longwall lighting solutions after a busy period of installing lighting solutions for Austar, Ulan, Grasstree and Beltana. Products include Ex-certified fluorescent and LED safety lighting (including ELV), stainless steel control boxes, power connection plugs and sockets, intrinsically safe power supplies, independent lighting pilot circuit monitoring modules, change-over relays and portable hand lamps. The company also provides overhaul and repair to AS/NZS 3800:2005 for its hazardous area equipment.

Hella Australia will also showcase its extensive lighting range for heavy-duty operations, covering mobile plant lighting, fixed lighting, accessories and globes.

Strata reinforcement solutions provider DSI will show off its new range of products including a single pass resin bolt for the hard rock sector; a high capacity post grouted strand bolt; a post grouted rib bolt; a domed butterfly plate; a resin anchored no tail rib bolt; and an improved load transfer roof bolt. DSI is also working on a number of projects including the development of self-drilling roof and rib bolts.

Applied Research of Australia will be displaying its new “like steel” cutable rockbolts. The company said the bolts combine high torque installation strength of stell with the flexibility and safety of a traditional cutable bolt.

Howden will have on show its range of ventilation equipment, including variable and non-variable pitch axial flow main ventilation fans; centrifugal surface ventilation fans with radial vanes for complete air volume control; compact, robust mixed flow underground booster fans; and adjustable and fixed pitch axial fans for underground auxiliary ventilation, including portable mine fans. Howden also supplies skid-mounted wet dust extractors designed to remove dust from the atmosphere in underground mines; screw compressors for refrigeration plant used in cooling; and blowers and turbo compressors used in flotation cells, ore processing and sulphuric acid plants.

Gates Australia will display its range of industrial power transmission systems, transfer hoses and hydraulic hoses and couplings.

Dixon (Asia Pacific) will hold the Australian release of its quick disconnect coupling which bridge the gap between hydraulic and pneumatic applications.
